Suffering as Flourishing

3/18/25

Hello Friends and Family,

My mind is constantly swirling with creative ideas. I’ve never been so inspired to write and yet I’ve never been so discouraged and broken.

Momentarily, personal matters have culminated into a powder keg.

Pray. Breathe. Exercise. Pray. Write. Work. Pray. Have been my constant companions who’ve gotten me through these waves of suffering and doubt. I’m reminded that Christ’s “Beatitudes” contain the recipe for the good life with seemingly contentious ingredients, salt (suffering) and sugar (flourishing).

I will continue to write and seek opportunities to be a witness of God’s truth, goodness, and beauty. Currently, I’m working on publishing a speculative fiction novel called Salvador: Sofías Story. (Prayers welcomed.)

I’m also coaching Christian men in their spiritual walk. I’ve constructed a curriculum to best assist the discipleship process, starting by

Turning Upward to God,

Turning Inward to self-assess,

Turning Downward to address sticking points, and

Turning Point to overcome obstacles.

All the research done will be compiled and edited into a book titled Spiritual Flourishing Life Coaching. (Prayers also welcomed.)

The third book I’m putting together is called Imaginative Apologetics: Braiding Together Truth, Goodness & Beauty. It’s my sequel to From the Ashes We Rise, where I continue to argue–by example–that traditional apologetics could be bolstered by the creative process of telling stories, implementing metaphors, and writing poems. So far, I’ve amassed 28 Poems, 88 Prose, and 17 Short Stories.

I thank you for partnering with my family and me in prayer and support during this crazy time.

Blessings & Best,

Chester Delagneau

In other words, true liberation is theologically inspired and anthropologically focused. Prayer is our love language, not activism. Imago Christi is our identity, not politics.

A poem about my experience as an immigrant boy in America.   Faith, Hope, and Love “The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.”   Even in the shadows, Faith, which is the shimmer of things that’ve long lost their luster, still slices like lightning.   “So let’s go all in.”  …

Hello Friends, Sari and I had a great time at the Grace Mellman Library book fair on the 21st, their first ever. They did a great job accommodating all the authors and vendors with refreshments and assistance with their booths. We were there for over six hours slinging water to parched strollers, talking to curious…
